Lauren Mc Millan began her nursing career in the Neonatal ICU, where precision, resilience, and compassion shaped the foundation of her professional path. After completing her NICU nursing-speciality training, she earned a Master’s degree in Reproductive Health Education (MCur) from Stellenbosch University in 2011, grounding her practice in evidence-based healthcare and advanced clinical reasoning.

Early in her career, she collaborated with leading UCT researchers, including Prof. Heather Zar, Prof. Zoltan Hantos, and Dr. Diane Gray, contributing to influential publications on childhood respiratory health and HIV-related lung outcomes in South African mother–infant pairs. Her work within the Drakenstein Child Health Study provided rare insights into lung function development both in utero and after birth, as well as the impact of maternal health and lifestyle conditions. As part of this pioneering team, she helped advance the use of infant lung function equipment and novel data analysis methods, refining her expertise in data integrity, analytical precision, and critical thinking.

Her professional journey later expanded into the pharmaceutical production industry, where she co-founded the Cannabis Research Institute. There, she focused on integrating CBD into holistic health care, contributing to pharmaceutical supplementation development, health-science innovation, and educational initiatives with a strong emphasis on integrative pharmacology.

Today, she is part of the multi-disciplinary Functional Health Team at Terre Paisible Medical Rejuvenation Spa. Guided by the visionary leadership of its founders, the team applies a holistic, root-cause approach — aligning lifestyle optimisation, targeted supplementation, collaborative care, and advanced diagnostics. Partnering with both local and international organisations and laboratories, she empowers patients through comprehensive integrative testing and personalised interpretation, enabling them to take ownership of their health and ageing journey. Under the mentorship of Tania Malan, she is privileged to combine scientific rigour with meaningful human connection, supporting wellness across the full spectrum of functional health needs.
